擰緊氣缸蓋螺母時，應分數次逐步擰緊到規定的力矩，并按先中間、后兩邊、對角交叉的原則進行。拆缸時也應按規定順序逐步擰松。若氣缸蓋螺母擰緊得不均勻或不平衡，會引起缸蓋平面翹曲變形。若螺母擰得過緊，螺栓會拉伸變形，機體和螺紋也會受到損壞。若螺母擰得不夠緊，會造成氣缸漏氣、漏水、漏油，氣缸內的高溫氣體也會燒壞氣缸墊。

用友良鋼材加工的連桿螺栓在工作中承受很大沖擊力，不能用普通螺栓代替。擰緊時扭力要均勻，兩根連桿螺栓要輪流分幾次逐步擰緊到規定力矩，后用鍍鋅鐵絲鎖緊。

應保證主軸承的安裝精度，且不松動。擰緊主軸承螺栓時，5道主軸承應按照先中間，后2、4道，再1、5道的順序，分2～3次均勻擰緊到規定的力矩。每擰緊一道還應檢查一次曲軸轉動是否正常。主軸承螺栓擰緊力矩過大或過小所產生的危害，與連桿螺栓擰緊力矩過大或過小所產生的危害基本相同。
